I think he is the poorest Chief minister of India. We are really proud that we have an inspirational Chief minister in our country. He still lives on his “Salary”.

Our hero Mr.Shri Manik Sarkar was born in a middle class family on January 22,1949 at RadhaKishorepur, South Tripura. He has actively participated in Student movements during his early academic career. He was brave enough to oppose the Congress Government regarding the Food Movement in 1967. He was inspired by the CPI(M). He became the member of the party in 1968, even though he was Student of the Premier Educational Institution of the state, the MBB college. He was appointed as the most respected Secretary General of the MBB college Student’s Union as the SFI nominee. He also held the position of SFI state committee secretary and Vice President of All India Committee of SFI in quick time. He got his Commerce degree from Calcutta university.

No more history of Shri Manik Sarkar. His bank balance shows that he has dedicated his complete life for his people. Every Tripura Citizen should be proud that they have such a Chief Minister. I think that is why they have made the right choice from March 1998.

When considering these things in another perspective, He can also be considered as an Indian Below the Poverty line.
